Joy by Jean Patou is a floral fragrance for women.
French fashion designer Jean Patou aspired to bring joy to the people by producing an exclusive perfume that was worth its weight in gold. To achieve this goal he made an extraordinary concentration of nearly 3,000 roses and over 10,000 jasmine flowers, which became one of the most best-selling perfumes ever released.
The aroma opens with a rich bouquet of ylang-ylang, rose and tuberose with a hint of peach and some fresh green notes. The floral arrangement melts into a mix of iris and jasmine and finishes with a base of sandalwood and musk.
Architect Louis Süe originally designed the elegant no-nonsense bottle with a golden thread wrapped around the neck for this classic fragrance. The current packaging strongly resembles the original flacon with its unique golden neck and decadent look.
Joy was launched by Jean Patou in 1930.
